Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, will I be able to visit my child during the day?

At this time, we are limiting traffic within the facility. We ask that parents adhere to our Modified Pick-Up & Drop-Off Procedures when able. If you do need to enter the facility to visit or breastfeed, you must be screened at the door and will be required to wear a face mask or covering and practice social distancing while in the building.

If my School-Age child is sent home from school due to someone in their class, household, or in close contact with them are being tested for the COVID-19 virus, will they be able to attend daycare?

Unfortunately, no. We ask that your child and family follow the return to school guidelines as outlined by the CDC. If the person tested for COVID-19 comes back with a negative result, your child may return to school immediately.

At what circumstance will my child be sent home?

Students will be screened at the door as they enter the building, as well as frequently throughout the day for signs of illness or symptoms of illness. If students are showing symptoms, staff will use their best discretion as to whether your child will be sent home. If the child has a temperature of 100.4 or above, your child will immediately be sent home and isolated from other students until a qualified parent or guardian picks them up.

How soon will I have to pick my child up if sent home?

If your child is sent home, you must pick them up immediately. If you are unable to pick up your child within the hour, we ask that you please call the facility to make other arrangements.

How long must my child remain out of school due to being sent home with an illness?

Your child may return to our facility 72 hours after they are fever free without the use of medication.

What happens if someone in the facility tests positive for COVID-19?

The facility will shut down upon any positive tests of staff or student. We will re-open in approximately 2 week if approved to do so by the Perry County Health Department.

Will staff be wearing masks?

Yes, all staff members are required to wear masks. All staff are screened upon entry to the building and use social distancing practices throughout their day.

Will children be required to wear masks?

Yes, in circumstances where social distancing is unable to be achieved, students will be required to wear a mask.

What happens if schools are shut down again due to COVID-19?

If schools are shut down again due to COVID-19, Perry Preschool & Child Care will do our best to re-evaluate our resources to provide care to additional students to the best of our ability.

What are you doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at Perry Preschool & Child Care?

As a staff, we are cleaning our classrooms in their entirely as frequently as possible. We are also encouraging students to wash their hands often and to cover their mouths when they cough or sneeze, and strongly encourage our older, school-age students to wear mask while in the building. We have also adjusted our hours of operation to facilitate additional cleaning and sanitation of high traffic areas such as doorknobs and hallways. We are screening both staff and students before allowing them into the facility.

Additionally, we have taken measure to ensure that each student’s belongings are kept separate from other students.

As a facility, we will do our best to comply and stay abreast of changing requirements and requests through the Center for Disease Control and our Public Health Department.
